SUITS を題材に英語学習を習慣化！④「英検1級 エッセイにPEST分析」〜フレームワークを英語に活かす〜

秋がようやく見えてきましたね。今の時期が一番過ごしやすいですね。何かをしよう！という気分になります。cool, persimmon,  mushroom, autumn foliage, marathon, studying, reading…秋といえばなんでしょうか。私はお店に並ぶ柿を見ると秋を感じます。

1. 英検1級 エッセイにPEST分析」〜フレームワークを英語に活かす〜　

　さて、海外ドラマSuitsを使っての勉強を進めていますが、私の目標は「英検1級合格」であることを忘れそうになっていました、、、次回テストは来年1月。これまでに使用した英検対策本は、「パス単」、「文で覚える単熟語」、「英語で意見を論理的に述べる 技術とトレーニング」、「過去6回全問題集」。感触としては、パート1は対策をしておけば意外と得点源になりそうです。覚えた単語はすぐに忘れてしまいますが、繰り返す度に思い出すのが楽になるのが感じられます（パス単は3周完）。

　問題はライティング。英検ライティング対策という視点で毎日の新聞を読んでいると、気候変動、新エネルギー、ドローンの軍事転用の懸念、SNSの浸透といじめ、公人のプライバシー、教育のデジタル技術、人種・性別差別、問題となりそうなテーマがどんどん出てきます。一朝一夕では身に付きそうに無いのでコツコツとやりたいと思います。　今日は英語学習に役立ちそうな知識として、ライティングの練習をしている時に使えると感じた切り口「PEST分析」を紹介します。

　PESTとは、「Politics（政治）、Economiy（経済）、Society（社会）、Technology（技術）」の頭文字を指します。ビジネス本などでよく紹介されているフレームワークの一つで、マクロ的な外部環境を分析するのに使用するマーケティング用語です。例えば、新規事業を検討する時に、その事業をするのに適切な環境となっているのか？といった外部環境の機会（Opportunity）と脅威（Threat)を分析するのに使います。今でしたら、CO2削減の政府方針（政治）、円安（経済）、少子高齢化（社会）、ロボット化（Society）などが挙げられ、1つだけではなく、思いつく限りの要因を列挙し分析に活かします。　

これを英検にあてはめると、、、

2. Suits season1-episode1④

　ようやくエピソード1が終了。想像以上に時間がかかってしまいましたが、シャドーイング→Twitterで簡単に振り返り→ブログで詳細確認をすることで、自然と単語や言い回しが身についてきているように思います。私は留学やホームステイの経験はありませんので、映画などで登場する会話調の英語には特に弱かったのですが、かなり改善してきました。海外ドラマの速く感じられる（リンキングや脱落などで速く感じる）英語を聴いていると、試験のリスニングにも対応しやすくなりますので、是非勉強を継続してみて下さいね。
